SBA Loan Closing Specialist
Duties: Responsible for the administrative tasks relative to SBA loan closings. Serve as the internal and external liaison between the Bank, SBA, third party vendors, attorneys, and customers related to all loan closing issues and to obtain required information. Coordinates with SBA Underwriters and BDO’s on loans to be submitted to SBA for approval. Schedules loan closings in concert with closing attorney. Review Commitment Letter and Credit Administrator approval for consistency. Prepare and maintain credit files through to loan closing. Prepare, submit and coordinate with SBA the issuance of an SBA Loan Number. Assure that the loan is closed in compliance with the terms of the SBA Authorization and Standard Operating Procedures. Order and review/evaluate third party vendor documentation such as appraisals, environmental reports, UCC and lien searches, flood search, tax return transcripts, etc. Recognize and proactively resolve potential problems in the loan closing process.. Assist SBA Lender(s) as needed. Prepare pre-closing package and borrowers’ “needs list” for all SBA loan requests. Provide superior and quality customer service. Ensure that the Bank’s policies and procedures, code of conduct, and regulatory guidelines are strictly complied with. Provide assistance to other employees by liaising with them through healthy and positive interactions. Be involved in performing marketing endeavors/efforts. Continuously update skills by participating in professional training. Seek opportunities to improve skills through cross-training offered by the Bank. All other tasks, responsibilities or duties, as directed by management.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: College diploma preferred; 2+ years' prior experience in related field; paralegal training and/or experience is a plus. 3-5 years’ prior supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of commercial loan closing requirements and processes, emphasis on SBA lending preferred. Ability to work on multiple projects/loans simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes. Knowledge of SBA lending and Standard Operation Procedures, “SOPS”. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requires strong knowledge of personal computer, Microsoft Office and other software used in department. Must be able to prepare documents and compose business letters and memorandums. Must have good knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation. Requires knowledge of office practices, procedures and general office machines.
