Paralegal III The candidate will provide legal support to the Division General Counsel for the assigned area of responsibility. Will resolves routine legal issues with customers and clients. Performs legal research and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents and reports. Responsible for handling of routine litigation matters including discovery and tracking of claims. Responsible for general file management, keeping management and staff informed on legislative developments and court actions that impact the company. Familiar with a variety of contracting and mergers & acquisition concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Provide support for department attorney Review and negotiate contracts under supervision of department attorney. Draft letters and memoranda on contract compliance, and in response to claims. Gather documents for legal research and projects. Prepare and distribute reports weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly. Input claim and litigation information. Handle legal reserve and outside counsel billing. Organize and file correspondence and reports. Maintain legal/litigation files.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Associates/Bachelors degree and Paralegal Certification. Must have 5 â€“ 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area or a combination of education and experience equivalent to 6 years. Must have knowledge of commonly-used legal processes, practices, and procedures. Excel, PowerPoint, and Word computer skills needed. Must possess problem solving and analytical skills. Good interpersonal skills is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is required.
