Job Overview: A reputable law firm based in Cincinnati, OH is seeking an Associate Attorney with recent admission to the Ohio Bar or 1-2 years of experience in litigation. This role involves representing clients in various legal proceedings, focusing on areas such as creditor's rights, commercial litigation, collections, landlord-tenant matters, bankruptcy services, and compliance with federal and state consumer laws.

Duties:

  • Uphold the highest ethical standards as a legal professional.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, foster a collegial work environment, and promote diversity within and outside the office.
  • Deliver outstanding client service.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings as assigned.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze laws, rulings, and regulations to formulate legal opinions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including briefs, correspondence, and pleadings.
  • Monitor case files and ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Supervise and review the work of staff, as needed.
  • Cultivate and maintain client relationships.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree.
  • Recent admission to the Ohio Bar or 1-2 years of related litigation experience.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex documents and responding to sensitive inquiries effectively.
  • Strong numerical skills for calculating figures such as interest and percentages.
  • Ability to apply logical and practical problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable laws, codes, procedures, precedents, and consumer protection regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree.

Certifications:

  • Active state license to practice law in Ohio.
  • A license to practice in Kentucky or Indiana is a plus.
