Associate Immigration Attorney Responsibilities: Responsible for legal operations consistent with the Firmâ€™s mission and values â€“ overseeing the activities and production of the Legal Team (Paralegal, Legal Assistants and any Jr Associates) and playing a key role in managing the client relationship with duties such as: Understanding many nuances of Immigration law. Meeting potential new clients (PNC) for strategic consultations. Determining necessary strategy for PNC based on their goal and articulating the importance/value of hiring firm. Client counseling and explanation of strategy/expectations. Drafting, reviewing and finalizing legal motions and petitions. Complex immigration court litigation. Representation at client USCIS interviews. Preparing strategy and clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony. Communicating with third parties, courts, and opposing counsel, delegating to Legal Team. Overseeing court and USCIS interview calendar. Updating clients with important legal developments. Updating Owner on weekly basis of caseload priorities. Supervising all legal duties that lead to conclusion of the case. Anticipating and mitigating potential client issues before they become an issue. Synthesizing legal research and analysis into a coherent written memorandum or brief for submission to a client, or court. Creating and proposing new or amended workflow policies and procedures.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bilingual (Spanish & English) with 4+ years of professional experience working in an immigration law firm or department; with STRONG specific experience in the following: Provisional Waivers, Adjustment of Status, 42B and 42A, Naturalization/Citizenship, U Visas, Consular Processing. Experience in the following would be beneficial: E-1/2 Visas, PERM, L-1 Visas and other employment-based case types will be considered. Should have the ability to organize and prioritize workload; be highly detail-oriented; understands the importance of having written internal processes and procedures and use his/her own judgment in decision making to adequately and efficiently meet any required deadlines. Knowledge of Inszoom is a plus.
