Mission Support Specialist - GS 7 – 9 The candidate will be responsible for performing a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the office. Specifically, will: Coordinate and monitor various administrative projects (e.g., contracting and monitoring of obligations). Identify and recommend solutions to a wide range of administrative problems. Analyze administrative data from a variety of sources to develop trends, patterns, profiles, estimates, and studies. Prepare preliminary and finished reports and documents. Represent the office in dealings with vendors and personnel from administrative support organizations.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have following qualifications:
To qualify for the GS-07 grade level if possess one of the following:
Experience: 1 year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service), performing duties such as, performing developmental assignments under the close guidance of a higher level specialist that provided exposure to a wide variety of management and administrative methods, techniques, and practices such as updating budget data on spreadsheets; compiling data for budget requests; preparing requests for personnel action; providing orientation to new employees; coordinating office moves and telephone service requirements; monitoring usage of government motor vehicles; collecting and analyzing information related to workflow, office procedures and control systems in support of program evaluations; and responding to routine questions concerning administrative procedures and requirements.
Substitution of Education for Experience: May substitute successful completion of one full year of graduate level study, or possess a master's or higher degree, e.g., Ph.D. in an appropriate field such as business administration, industrial management, industrial engineering, industrial psychology, public administration, political science, or government.
Superior Academic Achievement: May substitute superior academic achievement for the experience required at the GS-7 level. Must have completed the requirements for a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, class standing in the upper third of a graduating class or major subdivision, or membership in a national scholastic honor society. The degree must be in the fields described in above.
Combining Education and Experience: Appropriate combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience also may be used to meet the total qualification requirements for the GS-07 grade level.
To qualify for the GS-09 grade level if possess 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level performing duties such as:
Experience: 1 year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal Service) performing duties such as, providing assistance to senior specialists in the evaluation and analysis of operational and administrative programs to identify quantitative and qualitative productivity standards, measures of performance and reporting procedures, and resource utilization effectiveness and efficiency; assisting in the execution of administrative programs by carrying out specified portions or segments of specific projects such as updating budget data on spreadsheets, preparing routine budget requests, preparing requests for personnel action, providing orientation to new employees, coordinating office moves and telephone service requirements, monitoring usage of government motor vehicles, and collecting and analyzing information related to workflow, office procedures and control systems in support of program evaluations; and identifying and recommending solutions to administrative problems and providing advice to staff on established methods and procedures.
Substitution of Education for Experience: May substitute successful completion of a Master's degree or two (2) full years of graduate education in a qualifying field or a J.D. or L.L.B. degree for experience required at the GS-09 level. This education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university and demonstrate the skills necessary to do the work of the position.
Combining Education and Experience: Appropriate combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience also may be used to meet the total qualification requirements for the GS-09 grade level.
