Legal Assistant - Hearings Team Duties: Updates Outlook Calendar and data system when hearing notices are received in the mail, through fax or email. Prepares hearing packages for the appearance counsels with the necessary documents and orders. Coordinates hearing coverage with in house and outsource appearance counsels. Reviews files as needed for next actions before a hearing. Schedules motion hearings and mediations as necessary. Communicates with client in regard to witness requests and file statuses. Proofreads and corrects prepares materials for correct grammar, spelling punctuation, format, syntax and content. Performs related work as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: High School / Equivalency Diploma. Knowledge of correct English usage. Ability to follow complex instructions. Ability to apply instructions and/or guidelines as appropriate in the performance of duties. Ability to compose correspondence and reports. Ability to determine work priorities. Skilled typing ability and knowledge of personal computers, hardware, software and related applications. Preferred Skills. Knowledge of legal terminology.
