Senior Corporate Counsel, Offer Enablement Responsibilities: Provide excellent legal support to accelerate sales of SW through the Whole Portfolio Agreement. Lead initiatives aimed at simplifying and standardizing SW sales to allow to meet its buying program targets. Identify and implement strategies and processes to transform how brings the WPA to market Manage the WPA template and fallback/negotiated buying program terms. Drive processes and materials to help Legal scale for growth and reduce contract cycle time. Partner with other Legal team members and other business functions to drive business objectives. Build strong internal and external relationships while balancing the needs in engineering and sales priorities. Provide continuous improvement of standard form agreements, playbooks, contract templates, and legal and operational processes. Effectively advise, educate and train on and assist in the enforcement of offer policies processes.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree and excellent academic credentials. State Bar member in good standing and eligibility to practice. 8+ years of relevant legal, in-house and law firm experience. Extensive background in software licensing/SaaS and commercial transactions, preferably in the technology industry. Experience with privacy and data protection issues, including strong knowledge of global privacy laws, particularly GDPR. Solid knowledge of intellectual property laws. Intellectual curiosity to learn about new technologies and understand product architecture. Practical business judgment and understanding of the difference between legal requirements and business risk. Strong organizational and program management skills and the ability to prioritize and handle several simultaneous projects for multiple businesses under deadline pressure. Ability to quickly absorb, evaluate and respond to new and novel issues and to craft creative solutions Experience working across multiple internal business organizations. Ability to understand complex contractual issues, assess risk, and provide concise, plain English, business-focused legal documentation/processes and advice. Strong influencing and leadership skills. Must have excellent legal and business judgment, possess strong critical thinking and writing skills, and maintain a proven work ethic. Should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively and flexibly in a collegial, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, and adapt approach and demeanor to match shifting demands of different situations and varied personalities. Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and advanced interpersonal and influencing abilities to build trusted relationships both within and outside the legal department. Success requires self-motivation, self-reliance, confidence, diligence and a passion to learn about new technologies and businesses.
