ProfileLegal Environmental Scientist/rule Writer The candidate assists with moderately complex legal analysis and is expected to assist with the management of the rule writing process including writing rules, developing State Implementation Plans, synthesizing information provided by the program into effective and concise rules, providing legal guidance on rule language and impact, providing testimony related to rules in development, and to assist with planning the rule development strategy. Should have Bachelor’s degree in law, environmental management, sustainability, environmental science, environmental studies, earth sciences, urban planning; Juris Doctor preferred. Must have 2 years’ experience for level 2, 5 years’ experience for level 3 (Master’s degree in related field can substitute for 2 years of experience, Doctorate in related field can substitute for 4 years of experience). Should have knowledge of environmental legal research, State and Federal environmental regulations, environmental rule making process, environmental planning in air quality, and Agency policies and processes. Must have ability to follow guidance documents, and other technical instructions in performance of tasks; to prepare concise and accurate reports for the needs of the audience and to present those findings in public meetings; and to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks and complete assignments by applicable deadlines.
