A law firm in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a skilled Family Law Attorney with over 8 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in handling family law matters in both New York and New Jersey. Responsibilities include managing a high-volume caseload, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. The successful candidate should be licensed to practice in both states, possess a small book of business, and ideally have first-chair trial experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in diverse family law matters, including separation, divorce, custody disputes, spousal and child support, and marital property issues.
- Manage a busy caseload of family law cases, ensuring effective and timely handling of each matter.
- Prepare and draft various legal documents, such as discovery requests, motions, and briefs.
- Attend and represent clients at mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Handle a high volume of cases while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and meeting strict deadlines.
- Preferably handle first-chair trials, demonstrating leadership and expertise in complex family law cases.
- Manage an active family law practice while also developing and maintaining a small book of business.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in both New York and New Jersey.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in family law.
- Proven experience managing a high-volume caseload and handling a range of family law issues.
- Strong experience in first-chair trials is preferred.
- Existing book of business is desirable.
