A law firm seeks an experienced Labor and Employment Litigation Attorney to join its team in Beverly Hills. The ideal candidate will bring at least 4 years of experience in handling complex litigation matters. This role will involve managing cases from start to finish, including trial preparation, depositions, client reporting, and motions. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with partners to oversee an active caseload and will play a key role in resolving legal disputes for clients.

Duties

  • Handle litigation cases from inception to resolution, with a focus on labor and employment law.
  • Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, ensuring thorough case development.
  • Draft and argue motions in court.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide ongoing updates and ensure their needs are met.
  • Maintain productive relationships with clients, insurers, and colleagues.
  • Manage a variety of legal tasks and responsibilities, ensuring deadlines and expectations are met.
  • Report case progress to clients and senior attorneys regularly.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, mediation, and settlement negotiations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, including labor and employment matters.
  • Strong background in civil litigation and trial procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle a full caseload and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Experience in preparing for and attending trials, depositions, and motions.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-oriented in resolving cases.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and foster positive working relationships.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active California Bar license in good standing.

  • Expertise in civil litigation, specifically labor and employment law.
  • Strong legal writing and document preparation skills.
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience with case management software and legal research tools.
