A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney to join its Trust & Estates Department in Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience in estate planning, administration, and related matters, with strong expertise in estate and gift tax law. This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative and sophisticated environment with a focus on delivering exceptional client service.

Duties

  • Manage and advise on complex estate planning and administration matters, including drafting wills, trusts, and other legal documents.
  • Provide guidance on estate and gift tax planning, helping clients navigate complex tax laws.
  • Conduct detailed research and analysis on estate planning strategies, tax issues, and related legal matters.
  • Represent clients in probate proceedings and assist with the administration of estates and trusts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop tailored solutions to meet clients' long-term goals.
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws and estate planning regulations to offer informed advice.
  • Assist with business succession planning and the transfer of wealth across generations.
  • Participate in business development and client relationship management efforts.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in trusts and estates law, with a focus on estate and gift tax issues.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
  • Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar admissions are required; Florida and New York admissions are a plus.
  • An LLM in Taxation is highly preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients.
  • A client-focused attitude with an eagerness to solve complex problems.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars (additional state bar memberships are encouraged).

Certifications

  • Active membership with the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar associations (Florida and New York Bar membership is a plus).
