Trademark Paralegal The candidate partners with Energizer attorneys and business stakeholders on trademark issues, with an emphasis on trademark selection, advertising review and enforcement matters management globally. Reports into Senior Trademarks Counsel and is based in St. Louis, Missouri, with certain opportunities for remote work arrangements. Play a key role in the development of trademark selection and enforcement strategies. Research and analyze trademark-related issues, stay up to date with changes in trademark laws and procedures. Develop and maintain trademark and branding guidelines to protect Energizer’s trademarks and brands. Partner with trademark counsel on various legal matters, including trademark clearance, application preparation and prosecution, and enforcement matters. Work with the licensing group on in and- out-bound licenses. Assist various business units with permission to use letters and customs letters. Participate as a key player on the team handling trademark litigation, enforcement, and licensing. Oversee lodging of trademarks with customs offices globally and maintain same. Demonstrate good independent judgment in carrying out duties. Additional duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree required. Paralegal certificate or commensurate experience required. 7 years of experience in a similar role at a consumer products company or similar is needed. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Professional. Must have experience with Saegis trademark searching software. should have experience in international trademark matters including China, Europe, India and Latin America. Experience with project management is required. Must have excellent critical thinking skills and written and verbal communication skills. Should have outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Should preferable have experience in the consumer products or manufacturing industry. Legal department software programs experience including Foundation IP docketing software, Legal Tracker software is desired.
