Associate Attorney Responsibilities: Advise on matters of corporate governance, finance, contracts, insurance, risk management, real estate, and employment matters. Draft and negotiate transactional agreements for all Departments including revenue, mission, and IT. Provide legal assessments, interpretations, and recommendations to leadership on a wide range of legal matters including legislative and regulatory issues affecting the organization. Assist with the development and review organizationâ€™s internal policies to protect the organizations interest and objectives. Respond to subpoenas and work with outside counsel. Serve as a liaison with community leaders, including government officials and administrators. Draft various legal documents including, regulatory documents, and reports. Perform assigned legal research tasks using all available resources. Maintain up to date knowledge of new laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the company and assists with development of policies and training as needed. Proactively identifies risks and mitigating actions. Work with the board and staff to develop legal strategies and systems that are effective and aligned with the foundationâ€™s vision/mission and ensure that such strategies and systems are implemented well.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: An undergraduate degree and J.D. are required. An MBA is a plus. 7+ years of legal experience as a licensed attorney. Excellent drafting skills in all transactional areas. Strong legal, analytical, administrative, and written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse team. Ability to work independently, assess priorities, take initiative, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills. Executive presence and superior relationship cultivation skills. A creative, innovative thinker with a propensity for delivering projects and finding solutions to difficult challenges. Strategic and data-driven thinker with excellent analytical skills; ability to identify and respond to issues/opportunities in a timely manner.
