McGivney, Kluger & Cook is seeking to hire an entry-level Associate in our Downtown Manhattan office for our asbestos/toxic tort department. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys looking to gain litigation experience and continue to develop in their careers by joining a team within a national firm.

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Independently managing a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end
  • Working closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects
  • Regularly handle court appearances and depositions
  • Communicate with clients and provide status reports


  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the State of New York
  • 0-2 years of defense litigation experience
  • Insurance defense/toxic tort experience a plus
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

There needs to be leadership classes for management. High levels of ego affect management in giving their best leadership skills to their staff. Staff members who perform well should be compensated with a higher salary.

Pros : The firm pushes the aspects of individual and career development. Many opportunities are presented in order to learn and gain experience. The staff is very co-operative.
Cons : Some of the benefits are not available during holidays. In some cases, staff members who perform well are not rewarded. The salary is low. A lack of communication affects the firm.
