Location:
Duties:
- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of family law cases.
- Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
- Maintain client files to ensure organization and timely updates.
- Communicate effectively with senior partners and paralegals to move cases through the civil litigation process.
- Analyze legal situations, understand client needs, and create strategic plans of action to resolve issues.
- Represent clients in hearings, trials, and negotiations related to family law matters.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in family law, including matters related to divorce, child custody, and marital property division.
- Ability to represent both plaintiff and defendant sides in family law cases.
- Member in good standing with the American Bar Association (ABA).
- Experience with real estate law as it pertains to determining marital property is essential.
- Prior experience in criminal justice or other legal fields is a plus.
- Strong ability to negotiate and advocate for clients in high-stress situations.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- 4-year undergraduate degree with a legal background is required.
Certifications:
- Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA).
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
