Job Overview: A reputable law firm is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney to join its team in the St. Louis Metro area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of technologically significant patent applications for clients in industries such as semiconductors, telecommunications, consumer electronics, digital image processing, and robotics. The successful candidate will have the chance to build a strong patent prosecution practice while gaining exposure to various commercial technologies.

Location:

Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications related to electrical engineering, computer science, and computer engineering technologies.
  • Work with large- and medium-sized clients from diverse industries, including telecommunications, semiconductors, and robotics.
  • Conduct patentability searches and analysis.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to draft patent applications, office action responses, and other documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of legal arguments and submissions to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Provide legal counsel regarding patent strategy and portfolio management.

Requirements:

  • Zero to three years of experience in patent prosecution.
  • Eligibility to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Familiarity with . patent practice and patent application procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.

Education:

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.

Certifications:

  • Eligibility to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills:

  • Strong technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or computer engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications is a plus but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
