Paralegal Specialist; GS 9 Duties: The candidate will provide paralegal support for the Soldiers' Medical Evaluation Board Counsel (SMEBC) and legal services to soldiers undergoing disability processing and medical evaluation boards (MEB). Will act as liaison with the Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) Office of Soldiers Counsel, the servicing PEB, and the U.S. Army Physical Disability Agency. Provide legal assistance and make referrals for retired soldiers in MEB counsel. Prepare drafts and outlines covering specific legal issues for use by the assigned attorney. Assist reserve attorneys on temporary active duty. Support attorneys, clients, and witnesses by assisting with travel requests.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: The candidate should have successful completion of Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2- full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position or an LL.B. or J.D. degree if related.
