Family Law Paralegal The candidate will exhibit a detail-oriented, pro-active work ethic and have extensive knowledge of family law and the Portland, Oregon Tri-County court system as well as how to prepare child support worksheets and work in Excel. Familiarity with Oregon family law State Statutes, Rules of Civil Procedure, Uniform Trial Court Rules, and Supplementary Local Court Rules is essential. Candidates must also possess a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work well with others and offer mutual support to fellow team members. Provide support to two attorneys--including trial preparation, legal research, investigation, scheduling, legal correspondence--in the timely and complex preparation of cases from discovery to trial phase. Initial Draft pleadings, motions, responses, proposed orders, affidavits, subpoenas, and other legal documents under attorney supervision. Prepare pleadings for electronic court filing. Review, evaluate, and organize discovery documents, and draft discovery responses. Organize and mark trial exhibits, and preparation of trial and exhibit notebooks. Docket events on the calendar as requried. Participate in case review meetings, provide notarial services, maintain electronic and hard copy client files from case opening to final disposition and closing. Creation of Assets & Liabilities and related schedules. Should have 2+ years of experience. eFiling experience; Notary public; Experience conducting new client intakes is preferred. Preferred Skills: Word , Excel and Time Matters proficiency.
