Job Overview
An established and growing law firm seeks an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney with a strong background in real estate litigation. The ideal candidate will be able to independently manage litigation cases, from inception through trial, and have the ability to provide top-tier legal services in real estate and business law. The position requires expertise in handling commercial and residential property disputes, landlord-tenant issues, title disputes, and zoning matters. Duties

  • Represent clients in real estate closings, disputes, and litigation.
  • Lead real estate litigation cases from inception to trial.
  • Handle commercial and residential property disputes, including landlord-tenant conflicts and title disputes.
  • Guide clients through zoning and land use litigation.
  • Manage legal teams, including paralegals and clerks.
  • Respond to written discovery, engage in motion practice, and conduct legal research.
  • Investigate key facts and gather crucial case information.
  • Handle depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
  • Provide sound legal advice based on clients' needs and desired outcomes.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients throughout litigation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in civil litigation, including handling depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Must have prior experience in real estate litigation.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of property management, business law, title insurance, and residential/commercial real estate law.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent negotiation, research, and communication skills.
  • Strong client relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree required.

Certifications

  • Active California Bar License in good standing required.

Skills

  • Expertise in civil litigation, real estate disputes, and litigation procedures.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent client management and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of real estate law, including title insurance, land use, and zoning.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and work with minimal supervision.
