Paralegal – Litigation The candidate will prepare due diligence background investigative reports and provide thorough documentation of research. Provide investigation and research to locate individuals domestically and in foreign countries. Assist with analysis and retrieval of information from courts locally and on a nationwide basis. Perform factual research and search databases for specific information. Acquire government records from state and federal agencies. Maintain a high level of understanding of online research tools and technology. Prepare materials for hearings, interviews, depositions, and trial. Acquire Courthouse News petitions/complaints on a nationwide basis to facilitate client development. Research eminent domain bills filed and monitor progression through the Senate and House (every other year). Coordinate and manage document collections and productions. Must have Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic background. Should have 10 years of law firm experience. Technical skills: MS Office, Relativity, PACER, Westlaw and LexisNexis is required. Knowledge of rules of civil procedure and familiarity with the local rules of various courts is needed. Knowledge of e-discovery rules and document collection procedures and experience e-filing in various courts is must. Government/internal investigations experience is a plus.
