Litigation Paralegal Duties: Process both firm operational expenses and client billable disbursements. Daily process review of vendor invoices and financial reporting. Assist with billing, and electronic billing appeals. Create budgets, monitor and resolve outstanding, and vendor invoice / payment issues, process cost entries. Coordinate domestic aged invoices with Accounting. Assist in end-of-day reporting. Paralegal Duties. Draft page/line deposition summaries. Prepare subpoenas, and summarize complaint allegations. Summarize medical records. Conduct general online research using Lexis/Westlaw. Review and summarize insurance policies. Prepare appendices and form correspondence. Maintain detailed Excel charts. Communicate directly with clients. Analyzing and summarizing case facts. Ability to draft pleadings. Conduct interviews with injured workers employer and co-workers (fluent in Spanish helpful). Prepare and submit to the WCAB s medical unit PQME and IME requests. Qualifications: Bachelor degree preferred. 2+ years experience preferred with a law firm. Experience with federal court rules, and filing with the courts. Experience with entry-level bookkeeping. Knowledge of the WCAB EAMS system (electronic adjudication management system). Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel. Proficient with Nuance. Ability to process basic time sensitive entries. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks in a timely manner. Outstanding attention to detail. Excellent written, oral, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with all levels of firm employees. Knowledfe of WCAB medical reporting requirements. Attend WCAB meetings.
