Legal Assistant Duties: Performs routine record center support functions such as pulling files, creating folders, labeling, re-filing documents and shelving; packing boxes and preparing them for shipment; date stamping; ordering supplies; retrieving case materials; completing log sheets; covering front window in lobby area; answering phones; logging messages; faxing information, etc. Prepares documents for storage or for further data processing (i.e., copying). Assembles/disassembles documents as required, taking care to ensure that original documents are reassembled exactly to their original state. Maintains inventory/control records. Performs simple typing assignments using word processing equipment. Input case information in database management system. Assist in court hearing with administrative duties such as; distributing documents to parties, receive documents from parties, print out judge’s order, update case management system, etc. Maintains records of proceedings.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Associates or Bachelor's preferred. 2 years' previous records/information services work experience. Court And/or Previous Legal Experience Preferred. Ability to type at 35 wpm. A high attention to detail. Must be punctual and dependable, organized, detail oriented and have the ability to meet stringent deadlines and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
