Associate General Counsel Community Medical Centers The candidate will be responsible for a wide breadth of legal issues related to the operation of a healthcare system. Provide guidance, legal opinions and legal memoranda to executives and key stakeholders on legal compliance and regulatory issues. Work with service line administrators and other stakeholders to draft and review contracts, including physician contracts. Advise stakeholders on patient-related issues, including patient consent and ethics issues and HIPAA-related issues. Conduct legal research as necessary. Advise executives and stakeholders on corporate governance issues, including drafting and revising corporate documents. Conduct formal and informal presentations and trainings on legal and regulatory issues that impact the systemâ€™s operations. Draft, review and revise the healthcare systemâ€™s policies and procedures.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bar Admission in California, or registration in another jurisdiction with the ability to obtain Registered In-House Counsel status with the State Bar of California. 5-10 years of healthcare law experience in a law firm or in-house setting. Experience drafting and reviewing contracts. Knowledge of and experience with laws and regulations affecting healthcare systems and non-profit entities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. The ability and desire to work as part of a team. The ability to effectively manage multiple priorities at one time, often in the face of fast turn-around deadlines. Critical thinking skills and good judgment. Skills and Preferred: Experience with and exposure to healthcare law in the State of California. Experience with healthcare transactions. Experience with organized medical staff issues. Experience with real estate law and real estate transactions. Experience advising employers on labor and employment law issues.
