Director of Litigation Support Services The candidate will be responsible for providing firm-wide leadership and setting direction for all e-discovery and litigation support technologies, policies, procedures, and staffing. Provides management direction and oversight for the members of the department including the LSS project managers, firm-wide LSS technology staff, and litigation paralegals and specialists Works with lawyers, clients, and vendors on specific cases and projects as needed, advising on and helping plan effective e-discovery, case, and document-management; develops LSS senior staff to play this role as well. Coordinates e-discovery and litigation support vendor relations to ensure that the Firm and clients obtain best possible pricing and service both in long-term relationships and in case-specific engagements. Ensures the ability of lawyers and paralegals to obtain timely information from case databases to assist in document review and productions, preparing for depositions, trial support, etc. Prepares and manages operating and capital budgets for the departments. Recommends appropriate staffing levels for the departments, including salary and outsourcing recommendations.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should be a graduate of a 4-year accredited college or university; MBA, JD, or other graduate degree preferred. Must have 7+ years of experience in management and/or supervisory roles at AMLAW 100 firms in the e-discovery, litigation support, or litigation paralegal, or similar functional department in a Fortune 100 corporate legal department. Excellent communication, presentation, administrative and project leadership skills required. Experience as a litigation paralegal or lawyer preferred. Advises on plans for related space and support facilities in the Firm’s offices and oversees similar efforts with regard to trial sites. Assists in litigation planning and budgeting in business development and matter pricing contexts.
