A law firm in Detroit, MI, seeks a General Litigation/Transportation Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in transportation law and litigation practice. The ideal candidate will handle various litigation matters including commercial litigation, premises liability, general negligence, property damage, construction, personal injury, Michigan No-Fault, Third Party & Commercial Auto Liability, and Network Transportation Claims. Strong research, legal writing, communication, and client management skills are essential.

 

Duties:

  • Independently manage litigation cases such as commercial litigation, premises liability, general negligence, property damage, construction, and personal injury.
  • Handle Michigan No-Fault, Third Party & Commercial Auto Liability, and Network Transportation Claims.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties involved in litigation.
  • Present arguments in court during motion hearings and trials.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on various legal issues.
  • Manage client relationships and provide regular case updates.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Michigan and in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of experience practicing transportation law and litigation.
  • Proven experience in all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, and courtroom advocacy.
  • Strong proficiency in handling Michigan No-Fault, Third Party & Commercial Auto Liability, and Network Transportation Claims.
  • Excellent research, legal brief writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of Michigan.
