Director, Business Affairs The candidate responsibilities include: Structure, negotiate, document and manage transactions related to the DTC service including content licenses, above-the-line talent agreements (writers, producers, directors and actors) and rights deals. Partner with related TWDC segments in the consistent coordination and negotiation of complex deals related to original programming, including movies, scripted pilot/series, international co-productions, documentaries, specials, short-form, live events, ancillary content, third-party acquisitions, etc. Analyze deal structures and advise on strategy, costs, talent relations and other information relating to the development and production of original productions. Act as a business liaison between Disney DTC and the creative community (e.g., talent agencies, studios and independent production companies). Provide general business counsel in a rapidly changing business and tech environment. Should have 7+ years of total legal experience including studio or entertainment experience, law firm experience or equivalent. Must have knowledge of licensing, network and studio production, development and talent deals, content acquisition, rights and union/guild rules. Should preferably have 7-10 years of experience in negotiation and drafting including 2+ years of experience within a major TV network or studio. Prior network, production and development experience required. Prior top law firm experience needed. Must have familiarity with SVOD transactions. Should have Bar membership (California preferred). Bachelorâ€™s degree is required. JD from a top tier law school is needed.
