Profile

Litigation Assistant The candidate will calculate, calendar and track deadlines for litigation cases and trials. Will ensure department’s electronic and paper files are maintained and organized. Perform administrative work for the litigation department. Schedule and coordinate meetings. Communicate with court clerks, judicial secretaries, vendors, and opposing firms. Handle intra-office and client written and telephonic communications. Develop and maintain professional relationship with clients. Alert attorneys to clients’ issues, challenges, and potential problems. Edit written material for accuracy, format, and arrangement of material. Work with and support other members of the firm’s staff. Prepare deposition and trial exhibits. Draft legal forms for attorneys. Supervise part-time filing clerk. Perform miscellaneous tasks as needed for department attorneys. Paralegal Certification and Associate’s Degree, or equivalent experience and education is needed. Should have 2-3 years experience in the legal field or in executive assistant position is needed. Familiarity with legal terminology is needed. Experience with ProLaw or other law firm management and billing software is essential. CA Notary Public Certification is needed. Ability to work in a fast paced, detail oriented legal practice with minimal supervision is needed. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is needed. Proficient with Outlook, Word, and Excel is needed. Exemplary verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills are needed.
