Claims Analyst - Employment Practices Liability The candidate will independently manage a book of Employment Practices Liability primary, excess and bordereau claims in accordance with firm Values and the appropriate legal and regulatory framework. Timely, independently, and accurately evaluate EPL coverage and draft position letters. Keep claims management timely and adequately informed of key claims and issues. Liaison directly with insureds, underwriters and brokers on a daily basis. Maintain timely and accurate file documentation. Utilize handling authority to employ firm guidelines in concert with firm values to reach early resolutions favorable to firm customers and business. Strategize with insureds and defense counsel to develop and implement the best plan to drive each claim to favorable resolution. Communicate clearly and professionally with defense counsel to gain early understanding of liability, risk exposure and costs. Continually assess exposures and adequacy of claims reserves. Work with insured and counsel in a professional and proactive relationship to resolve claims while controlling costs. Actively monitor and participate in underlying negotiations/litigation. Attend mediations and/or settlement conferences where appropriate; travel as required. Must have Associates Degree or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Paralegal degree and strong litigation experience is preferred. Should have 1-2 years of claims adjusting experience in professional or management liability lines with a strong understanding of coverage analysis and reserve process. Active insurance adjuster’s license issued by Georgia strongly preferred.
