A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Labor and Employment Career Attorney with significant experience in employment litigation. This position will focus on defending employers in various labor disputes, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation cases, and ERISA litigation. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned litigator with a strong track record in agency and court settings.

Duties:

  • Represent and defend employers in employment litigation involving single-plaintiff discrimination, harassment, retaliation claims, and ERISA litigation.
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including investigations, pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, settlements, and trials.
  • Appear in court for motions and other proceedings and represent clients in mediations and arbitrations.
  • Provide employment law advice and counseling to clients, including compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and trainings on various labor and employment issues for clients.
  • Collaborate with other members of the employment law team to ensure a cohesive strategy in complex litigation cases.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in employment litigation, specifically defending employers.
  • Experience with ERISA litigation preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the United States; licenses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and/or New York are highly preferred.
  • Excellent academic background and proven track record in defending employment actions at agencies and in court.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional need to be present in the office for meetings, depositions, and court appearances.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, or eligible to obtain a license in these states.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using legal database software and other relevant technology.
