ATTORNEY The candidate will represent the people of the State of Florida advocating for the best interests of Florida’s children in dependency proceedings under Chapter 39, Florida Statutes. The position requires a strong interest in advocating for children’s best interests, good academic credentials, strong writing skills, excellent communication skills, a strong interest in courtroom litigation, excellent critical thinking skills, the ability to work independently, a positive attitude and membership in the Florida Bar. Moot court, and/or trial team participation a big plus. Law review and/or a certificate in advocacy are a plus. The salary is based on qualifications. Will consider an entry level attorney depending on previous law school internships and work experience. The salary for an attorney is $47,500 per year, and includes an excellent benefits package with health benefits, life insurance, dental insurance benefits, four weeks paid vacation, paid state holidays off with pay, a personal day, paid sick leave, and a state funded retirement package.
