A law firm is seeking a Real Estate Attorney to join its Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in real estate law, with expertise in real estate acquisition, sales, and development. The attorney will represent clients in various real estate matters, including leases, title issues, and commercial loan negotiations. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina, and South Carolina licensure is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in real estate transactions, including acquisition, sales, and development projects.
- Provide legal guidance on leases, subleases, easements, declarations, condominiums, and other title matters.
- Negotiate and draft commercial loan terms and related documents.
- Advise clients on issues related to condemnation, rezoning, and land use.
- Counsel clients on tax-related matters such as 1031 exchanges and opportunity zones.
- Collaborate with clients, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transactions and compliance with legal requirements.
- Conduct thorough due diligence and review of real estate documents and contracts.
- Stay informed about changes in real estate law and market trends to provide up-to-date advice.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in North Carolina.
- South Carolina licensure is a plus.
- 3-6 years of experience in real estate law, including real estate acquisition, sales, and development.
- Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, commercial loan negotiations, and title matters.
- Experience advising on condemnation, rezoning, land use, and tax issues related to real estate.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and legal research skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
