Support Attorney
The candidate will be drafting complaints, pursuing scheduling orders, and coordinating discovery responses, with future opportunities for more persuasive writing and advocacy, such as drafting dispositive motions and responses. Ensure that ALL cases attended to without delay and that the firm’s litigation prioritization directives are carried out. Provide support for attorneys’ caseloads. Deliver well researched written briefs on time for litigation. Drafting civil complaints. Drafting/negotiating consent scheduling orders. Following up with opposing council on overdue discovery responses. Perform background research including admin, investigative, legal research on both parties and claims. Get defendants to respond to discovery interrogatories and requests in a timely manner. Perform corporate and personal background research on defendants, including information on assets, identifications, background checks, shell corp., etc. Prepare all key information, defendants, claims, and assets to create accurate briefs. Drafting responses to dispositive motions, general motion practice for the litigation attorneys to review. Check reports for upcoming tickets/orders, review due dates, create a work plan, and initiate the execution of the plan. Must have Licensed and in good standing with Tennessee Bar (Licenses in MS + AR is a plus). Must have strong legal research and writing skills. Should have superior writing and oral communication skills.
