Docket Specialist Duties: Provide daily calendaring, maintain court dockets. May serve as liaison between attorneys and courts. Handle everyday procedural questions and situations which may require detailed research. Coordinate docket activities. Train new attorneys and staff on docketing software. Implement or revise templates for electronic docketing system. Communicate docketing policies and procedures to staff and attorneys and work with such individuals as necessary to address any associated problems or concerns. Proofread computer audit trails of calendar entries to ensure accuracy. Provide general and/or specialized docket reports upon request.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from an accredited institution required or equivalent experience. 2+ years’ docketing experience; prior experience with an electronic docketing system. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, client service environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and thorough understanding of risk management issues related to docketing procedures. Extensive knowledge of federal, bankruptcy and state court rules (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut at a minimum) and procedures. Ability to manage a large volume of detailed tasks.
