A law firm seeks a talented Employment Litigation Associate to join its dynamic team in Detroit, Michigan. This role involves handling a variety of employment-related legal matters, including litigation, client advisement, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in litigation and a keen interest in employment law.

Duties:

  • Defend employers in lawsuits involving employment-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and contractual disputes.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings, including court appearances, administrative hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Litigate class and collective actions, as well as cases involving non-compete agreements and employment torts.
  • Advise employers on compliance with labor and employment laws and help develop proactive workplace policies.
  • Draft legal documents, motions, and pleadings, and handle all aspects of case strategy and management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, with a preference for candidates with an employment law background.
  • Proficiency in navigating court procedures and employment-related administrative agency processes at both state and federal levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on detail and precision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a high-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and focus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively in a team setting and independently on complex projects.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Michigan or ability to obtain admission promptly.
