General Counsel Duties: Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer (the “CRO”) and the Chief Executive Officer (the “CEO”), the General Counsel (the “GC”) will be a member of and interact on an ongoing basis with the Business Operations team at Haselden Construction (the “Company”). Advise the CRO, CEO, COO and CFO and Company on commercial construction contracts, insurance, disputes and claims management, employment issues, contractual matters relating to Haselden Restoration Services (“HRS”) and other critical initiatives. Secondary responsibility to support the Senior Project Manager that is primarily responsible for negotiating and signing subcontracts. Responsible for the development and execution of the legal strategy and operations that support the Company's business plans, will drive a culture of accountability and inclusion, and will work collaboratively across the business enterprise to execute strategy while appreciating and furthering the Company’s culture.
Qualification and Experience Qualifications: Should preferably have 10-15 years of legal practice demonstrating varied and increased responsibility. Experience with a well-regarded law firm and 2-3 years of experience as in-house legal counsel is desired. Construction industry experience together with experience managing litigation and arbitration of disputes is desired. Participation in external construction industry groups is desired.
