Commercial Lawyer The candidate will provide generalist commercial legal support and advice to a business unit or units, with a particular emphasis on advising on, drafting, negotiating and structuring Telecom/IT commercial transactions. Will be responsible or involved in advising on other specialist subject matters areas subject to his/her skills/experience-fit, and overall business needs. Manage a broad array of legal issues in the context of commercial transactions: including contract law, tax, competition/anti-trust, employment, regulatory, data privacy, intellectual property, and so on and so forth. Represent the company in commercial contract negotiations with customers and/or suppliers. Work closely and effectively with relevant stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks arising from proposed transactions, and provide creative commercial/legal solutions. Help create and develop standard terms and conditions for products and services to meet evolving business requirements. Anticipate legal issues that are relevant to the business and provide proactive advice and counsel. Help create business models that are appropriate to the market or an individual customer engagement, while also ensuring firm’s interests are protected at all times. Work across boundaries and geographies, including being a member of virtual or matrix teams. Conduct reviews of transactions and where necessary update processes/practices to reflect lessons learned. Comply with Trading Policies, best practice and internal governance. Appropriately communicate deal objectives and progress to senior management, in order to assist in decision-making. Responsible for his/her own matters and ability to work both independently, and effectively within a team. Closely coordinate with management. Should preferably have international experience or experience working in a global multinational. Experience working as an attorney in a technical environment is highly preferred. Should have 4-7 years post admission experience, preferably with a blend of in-house and private practice experience.
