Litigation - General (consumer)

Paralegal The candidate will focus mainly on the areas of litigation, employment and consumer law. Will work closely with senior attorneys and other legal department team members on a variety of legal projects such as litigation, legal research, document drafting, employment law, consumer background screening and consumer law and special projects. Provide assistance to coordinate and manage litigation, including overall docket management, draft and prepare documents, organize and maintain files, and organize and obtain evidence necessary to respond to discovery and coordinate timely submission of court documents. Manage and coordinate responses to discovery requests. Communicate and coordinate with different internal department employees (HR, Benefits, Payroll, Tax, and product groups) to compile information to respond to various subpoena request(s) and ensure timely production. Provide assistance to draft and prepare employment and separation agreements. Review and draft responses for attorney review on consumer screening matters. Perform legal research and conduct web-based research on various matters. Bachelor's Degree required or at least 5 years of paralegal experience may be considered instead of a degree. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited institution highly preferred. Must have 6 years’ experience as a litigation paralegal in a corporate and law firm setting. Consumer law experience with FCRA knowledge is a plus. Must have strong communication skills and comfortable speaking with various local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Must have strong organization and project management skills.
