ProfileSenior Principal Healthcare Compliance Manager The candidate will manage developing in-depth business knowledge and understanding business goals and priorities. Collaborates with legal and business partners and others within Compliance to identify and understand business priorities to be included in the HCO Work Plan. Accountable for making decisions on certain policy matters including those of significant impact for HCO. Ensures alignment within HCO and across the business on compliance related matters and decisions. Participate in appropriate compliance committees and represent business priorities. Provide compliance support to partners on strategy, tactics and operations including educating partners on compliance guidelines, policies and best practices. Assist with development and delivery of training and education as required. Assist with assessment and development of policy language as required. Identify and communicate to partners the key accomplishments and Work Plan progress throughout the year, including compliance committee discussions and decisions and key policy/training initiatives. Work across HCO functions to develop compliance strategy, work plan and summary report for assigned business area or functional unit.. Responsible for evaluating results of a legal assessment and the implications to compliance program. Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Genentechâ€™s business, organizational structure, reporting relationships, core business practices, policies & procedures, as these relate to healthcare compliance and ethics. Responsibility for the strategic oversight and implementation of the Healthcare Compliance Office Training Plan. Keeps current in the area of relevant regulations & laws (e.g., healthcare compliance and ethics). Effectively integrates risk/context and business knowledge to address unusually complex problems. Develops solutions to complex problems requiring use of ingenuity and innovation. Operates with a planning horizon of 18-24 months, incorporating the business unitâ€™s timelines into planning. Manages outside counsel, consultants, vendors, etc., effectively for specific projects with significant corporate impact that require the application of advanced theoretical knowledge and in accordance with a significant budget. Serves as member of the HCO extended LT or LTHas regular interaction with senior management and helps leader determine and develop long range plans for organization. Lead recruitment, hiring and onboarding for direct report positions. Oversee direct reportsâ€™ work to ensure on-time, on-target and within budget results. Assume responsibility for performance and management of direct reports. Ensure direct reports are appropriately trained, developed and coached. Lead routine and ad hoc meetings and other communications with direct reports. Coach and mentor new or less experienced HCO staff members. Should have Bachelorâ€™s egree (life sciences, law, public policy, marketing, business, education, finance/accounting or related discipline preferred) is needed. Graduate-level Degree preferred (JD, MBA, MS, PharmD or other PhD, or related discipline) is needed. Should have 4+ years of previous experience leading large-scale cross-functional project teams in design, development and implementation of policies, programs or projects with significant organizational impact. Should have 10+ years of work experience in legal, compliance, policy, auditing, training, communications or related discipline in the bio/pharma industry. Must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the bio/pharma industry is needed. Based on experience, Healthcare Compliance Certification may be required within 6 months of appointment is needed.
