Paralegal - District Court Division - Organization: Eastern (Essex) District Attorney's Office
Role and Responsibilities:
Support Assistant District Attorneys, law enforcement investigators and State Police in the District Court Division by assisting with case-related matters from initial investigations through trials
Conduct legal research using internal and external tools and databases
Compile and analyze case documents such as 911 tapes, reports, and financial records
Manage case files and assemble trial exhibits
Review legal forms for accuracy and completeness
Interact with parties, experts, and lay witnesses
Fulfill mandatory education and training requirements of the State Ethics Commission
Follow office personnel policies, including confidentiality and sexual harassment policies
Participate in relevant trainings
Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor with the public, judicial and law enforcement personnel, and office staff
Complete work assignments in a timely and accurate manner
Qualifications:
Associate or higher degree in paralegal studies or previous experience as a litigation paralegal preferred
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of legal terminology and principles
Ability to perform general legal research
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal skills and workplace etiquette
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Interest in the public sector and understanding of the criminal justice system and the role of prosecution
Strong personal character, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Salary Information:
Salary range of $50,000-$55,000 per year, paid bi-weekly based on a work week

Experience Requirements:
Associate or higher degree in paralegal studies preferred
Previous experience as a litigation paralegal preferred
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of legal terminology and principles
Ability to perform general legal research
Location:
This position could be located in Salem, Peabody, Lynn, Newburyport, Gloucester, Haverhill, or Lawrence
