Senior Counsel Product and Trade Regulations The candidate will serve as Counsel or Senior Counsel to the Company reporting to the Associate General Counsel for Product & Trade Regulation. Will provide legal advice to company's business and functions on the federal and state laws and regulations concerning company products, such as those governing chemicals, pesticides, foods & drugs and products of biotechnology. Work closely with the Associate General Counsel for Product and Trade Regulation, business units, functional units and other members of the legal department, providing advice and guidance on product regulatory issues. Provide advice on compliance with legal requirements governing the company's portfolio of chemical, pesticide, biotechnology, food and drug and/or other products, including new product approvals, confidentiality and data compensation claims, investigation and voluntary disclosure of potential regulatory deviations, and defending the company against civil administrative enforcement claims. Review and comment on product regulatory provisions in transactions documents, including stock and asset purchase and sale agreements, confidentiality agreements, and material transfer agreements. Train functional and business unit personnel with respect to regulatory compliance issues. Develop a thorough understanding of and familiarity with the company's businesses, people, products, markets, facilities, customers, and competitors, in order to identify trends and formulate strategies accordingly. Perform special assignments or projects as determined by Legal Department management. Provide advice/counsel/comment on pending legislative and regulatory proposals in the substantive legal areas. Participate as appropriate in product regulatory associations. Should have a J.D. degree with active license to practice law within the US. Must have 8+ years of legal experience focused on product regulation and compliance matters. Should have admission to the Bar of at least one state and, if not licensed in New Jersey, be eligible to practice law in New Jersey as an in-house counsel having a 'Limited License'.
