Paralegal – Law
The candidate will assist with complex matters involving contaminated sites. Provide legal counsel on a full range of environmental issues, including Superfund cleanups, Clean Water Act issues, hazardous waste and toxics. This role is funded until completion of specific projects that are anticipated to continue for the next three years. It is possible that funding for the position will be extended longer. Use document databases, Excel, and other software to manage electronically stored information. Employ software and work with vendors to prepare documents for review and production. Review, index and tag documents for both objective and subjective information. Work with clients in multiple City departments and locations to identify and retrieve documents. Search for documents in libraries, archives and databases. Provide other paralegal support as requested. Manage workload within deadlines.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience performing paralegal duties. A Degree or Certification from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited paralegal training program and 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience which provides evidence of the ability to perform the work is preferable. Must have attentiveness to detail, including tracking steps in complex tasks and identifying problems. Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills are expected.
