Assistant Attorney General The candidate will work in the Civil and Criminal Litigation and Advice Section (CLA). Will analyze complex and diverse legal issues, conduct associated research, and provide written and oral advice to DES on a wide variety of subjects, including contacts and procurement and employment law. Analyze, apply, and advise the client with regard to various federal regulations and state/federal statutes. Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, forms and other legal documents. Represent the client in connection with administrative hearings and other legal proceedings.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have 2 years of legal experience. A background in contracts and procurement or employment law is a plus. Admission to, and good standing with, the Arizona State Bar is required. Must have an active Arizona State Bar license. Should have knowledge and understanding of applicable statutes, case law and court rules. Knowledge of litigation and the administrative process required. Knowledge of ethical standards applicable to lawyers and public employees essential. Excellent writing and communication skills are required. Travel is essential.
