Attorney IV The candidate will act as lead attorney within the legal function in accordance with established business practices, professional standards, authorized procedures, guidelines, the budget plan, and Legal Department and State Fund policies. Personally address or supervise the handling of the more sensitive, difficult, and complex legal transactions and advice matters central to State Fundâ€™s business functions. Advise clients and internal teams on commercial transactions, contracting strategies and review and negotiate State Fundâ€™s contracts. Research and write legal memoranda and risk mitigation strategies, draft proposed legislation or regulations, provide in-house legal advice and counsel to State Fund executives, program managers and their subordinates. Review, analyze, provide legal advice and negotiate with outside entities on technology contracts, data privacy, intellectual property rights, and other business services or asset purchase contracts needed to accomplish State Fundâ€™s enterprise goals. Must have active membership in The California State Bar. Should have 6 years of legal experience in the practice of law. Must preferably have 10 years of legal experience in the practice of law, 4 years of which must have been at a level of responsibility equivalent to an Attorney III. Should preferably have 4+ years of significant transactional, litigation or corporate law experience involving high exposure. Deadline: 22 June 2018.
