A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Employment and Labor Attorney with 4+ years of broad expertise in employment law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advising clients on employment policies, statutory compliance, and employment agreements. They should be motivated, have exceptional communication and legal writing skills, and be capable of handling a mix of counseling, litigation, and transactional work.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on employment law matters, including policies, practices, and compliance issues.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, separation agreements, and other employment-related documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex employment law issues.
  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour matters.
  • Handle administrative proceedings before state and federal agencies, such as the EEOC and DFEH.
  • Assist in conducting workplace investigations and providing recommendations based on findings.
  • Collaborate with and mentor junior associates, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Stay updated with changes in employment laws and regulations affecting clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar and in good standing.
  • 4+ years of experience practicing employment law, with a focus on counseling, litigation, and transactional work.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advising clients on employment policies, statutory compliance, and employment agreements.
  • Strong academic credentials from law school.
  • Exceptional communication and legal writing skills.
  • High level of motivation, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability and willingness to mentor and train junior associates.
