IP Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for keeping firmâ€™s legal operations efficient and organized. Will organize and support firmâ€™s domestic and international IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, open source, and domains. Coordinate projects with in-house and outside counsel, as well as internal clients. Build and maintain internal IP management systems and tools, coordinate disclosure meetings, create guidelines and internal resources, and manage firmâ€™s patent incentive program. Perform and analyze trademark clearance search requests and watch notices. Assist in IP enforcement activities, including trademark, copyright, and domain disputes in the US and worldwide.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelorâ€™s degree or equivalent experience and Paralegal certification. 5+ years related IP experience. Deep familiarity with patents or trademark is must. In-house experience preferred. Familiarity with IP specific systems re: portfolio management, domain management, the USPTO PAIR systems, and general trademark searching. Solid ability to understand general business operations, issues, and dynamics beyond the scope of basic legal issues. Solid ability to handle confidential information with the highest degree of professional responsibility. Proficiency working in a Mac environment, and specifically with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Dropbox, Excel, Outlook and Word.
