Temporary Litigation / Legal Assistant The candidate will be responsible for processing all civil remedy notices and lawsuits in the Litigation Department. Prepare and process reports, correspondence, and memos based on claim issues. Maintain litigation calendar and civil remedy deadlines. Work with the Director of Litigation to review and analyze claims for possible problems or issues and respond, as directed. Review consumer complaints and work with the Underwriting Department in order to ensure that rights have been protected. Prepare letters and respond to requests for information from the Defense Counsel. Answer calls from agents, Outside Counsel, DFS, insured and vendors. Prepare correspondence by Adjusters and Director, as requested. Handle other duties, as assigned. Should have 1+ year of related Legal experience. High School Diploma / GED is essential. Should have experience in Law, Insurance, and/or Litigation. Experience in Florida insurance laws and claims are needed. Should preferably have Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
