Paralegal, Transactions DUTIES: Under the direction of the Practice Group Leader & Chief Legal Counsel, this position is responsible for drafting and editing a wide-range of transactional documents, including contracts for SaaS and software agreements, consulting services agreements, NDAs, grant agreements, amendments/addenda, and a variety of other documents. The position will support and work under the supervision of the attorneys in the Technology & Commercial Transactions Group of the JHHS Legal Department. Employee will coordinate and collaborate with third party vendors and clients throughout the JHHS enterprise. The paralegal will be proactive and detail oriented. An individual with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients to achieve the health systems’ business and operational goals and objectives, while identifying and managing risk. The ideal candidate is a team-player with a great attitude and the ability to balance competing priorities. This individual also utilizes critical thinking skills to interpret the information necessary for reviewing and drafting agreements and can plan a course of action for addressing issues.
Qualification and ExperienceQUALIFICATIONS: Must have an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required. Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred; 3-5 years of relevant experience. Paralegal Certificate is required if Associate's Degree is not obtained. Experience working with IT agreements strongly preferred. Requires the ability to read and write various types of legal documents. Must have general knowledge of legal practices and procedures; Solid knowledge of legal terminology; Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Strong time-management skills; Strong organization skills to manage a significant workload; Strong writing and reading skills; Ability to read and understand contracts and contractual provisions; Ability to effectively interact with internal clients at all levels of the organization; Ability to work independently and coordinate, prioritize and manage multiple tasks; Analytical and problem solving skills; Ability to exercise good judgement; Database management skills and experience; Be detail oriented, a self-starter and able to work without supervision and instructions; Have the ability to deal with and maintain confidential information; Ability to enter into appropriate database and prepare reports and statistics from the data; Ability to interpret written and oral information/direction from clients; Ability to interpret information obtained from vendors and other third parties
