Legal Assistant Duties: Work closely with 4-5 attorneys in the Chicago office handling court filings, reviewing documents, summarizing deposition transcripts, and other duties necessary to support the attorneys’ needs. Perform a broad range of case related duties under supervision as outlined below. Drafting notices and preparing court filings. Electronic filing and uploading of documents. Drafting and editing correspondence. Copying/Scanning/Faxing. Scheduling depositions. Corresponding with opposing counsel and court clerks. Interacting and following up with attorneys to ensure completion of filings and projects. Document conversions. Relieving receptionist.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree. Previous law firm experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Detail oriented, have superior communication, organizational, computer and client service skills and be able to multi-task. Excellent problem solving skills, ability to work well under pressure and desire to take initiative are a must.
