Senior Paralegal, Franchise RESPONSIBILITIES: Managing legal due diligence process of franchise and third party partners to include: liaising with internal stakeholders, prospective franchisees/third party partners to obtain corporate information, instructing background reports and reviewing the same, supporting the compliance team to determine follow up steps, executing on such and driving to resolution by completing a final summary memo. Managing and updating contracts database: summarizing contracts and uploading summaries into database. Managing the process of confirming local franchise regulatory requirements and other applicable legal requirements, supporting Senior Counsel, Strategic Alliances to determine follow ups and providing advice and risk assessment to internal business partners. Managing the agreement execution process, including validating local signing requirements, supervising the Legal Administrator and Filing Clerk to ensure accurate signing and filing system in place. Analyzing contracts to advise on various contractual provisions and supporting Senior Counsel, Strategic Alliances in relation to interpretation of such provisions and risk assessment to advise the business. Filings and disclosures support: managing any initial, renewal or amendment franchise filings to include collecting all necessary information, preparing and updating the filings/disclosures and validating details with Senior Counsel, Strategic Alliances and local counsel to submit to regulatory authorities. Working with business partners to support the business in day to day operational matters such as clearance requests, store closure, and short term extensions. Advises and mentors junior team members. Provides technical and professional interpretation and recommendations. Uses judgment based on the analysis of information. May evaluate complex situations using multiple sources of information. Manages projects and program execution within area of specialty and ensures quality of work. May influence decisions related to business operations in specialty area. Impacts own team/closely related teams or area. Developed communication skills to exchange complex information. Adapts communication techniques for audiences at multiple internal/external levels.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: College degree required. Paralegal experience required preferably in a reputable law firm or a global or multinational corporation. Franchise legal experience highly desirable. Database management and project management experience preferred. Process oriented. Strong attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with ability to juggle, escalate appropriately and continually prioritize to balance work load. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Desire and ability to work in fast-paced, challenging environment, to tight timelines. Ability to work independently and drive results. Adaptable and responsive to changing business priorities. Ability to work effectively with team members, business partners, local counsel and franchisees in different locations and time zones.
