Job Overview

A law firm in New York City is seeking a Mid-Level Consumer Financial Regulatory Associate Attorney with at least four years of experience in regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of consumer financial regulations and exceptional communication skills. Job Duties

  • Advise clients on consumer financial regulations, including state and federal laws relating to payments and credit products.
  • Guide compliance with unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices (UDAAP) laws.
  • Collaborate with clients on emerging financial platforms, including FinTech, mortgage lenders/services, cryptocurrency, and other digital assets.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client needs.
  • Draft and review regulatory filings, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist clients in navigating complex regulatory environments and developing compliance strategies.
  • Represent clients in regulatory matters and proceedings as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through outstanding service and communication.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in consumer financial regulatory matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of consumer financial regulations at the state and federal levels.
  • Familiarity with UDAAP laws and their application.
  • Experience with emerging financial technologies, mortgage lending/servicing, cryptocurrency, and other digital assets is a plus.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to client service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be a member of the New York Bar in good standing.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
